2026 review

Abimelec Ortiz was a bench-and-platoon first baseman for WSN whose bat never got going: in 44 games he hit .188/.228/.344 with a 26.5 K% and a 5.1 BB% over 136 PA, adding 5 HR and 14 RBI. He was optioned in Mar, recalled Jul 12, optioned Jul 13, optioned again Jul 17, and recalled Aug 3. Drafted at NFBC ADP rank 1222, an occasional pick taken in 267 of 674 drafts, he finished 1182nd of 1472 in the TDK LABS 5x5 value rank, 431st of 660 hitters and 44th of 65 first basemen. His .246 wOBA ran 25 points below his .271 xwOBA over 136 PA. The TDK LABS card traced the swings from there: a debut with a hit in mid Jul still buried in a deep picture, a strong platoon read against right-handers by early Sep as the power cooled, and by late Sep a player stuck in platoon duty and benched often.
