2026 review

Adrian Del Castillo was a young hitter who couldn't get untracked: he hit .193/.246/.309 with a 28.4 K% and a 6.6 BB% over 197 PA for ARI, with 5 HR in 64 games. A left calf strain put him on the 10-day IL retroactive to Mar 22, he took a rehab assignment Mar 31, and was activated Apr 3, missing 9 regular-season days; after that he was optioned and recalled repeatedly through the year, shuttled between the majors and the minors on Jul 6, Jul 18, Aug 5, Sep 6, Sep 12 and Sep 26. Undrafted in most NFBC drafts at ADP rank 1175, he finished 1131st of 1472 in the TDK LABS 5x5 value rank, and 29th of 46 designated hitters. The TDK LABS card described a difficult week upon his return in early May, and by early Sep it was framing him as a newcomer getting an early look after being recalled when a roster spot opened up.
