2026 review

Alan Rangel was a swing reliever shuttled through Philadelphia's bullpen all year, posting a 5.88 ERA and 1.69 WHIP in 26.0 IP across 7 games with a 23.6 K% and a 10.6 BB% over 123 BF. He bounced between the majors and the minors all season, optioned Mar 14, recalled Apr 21, optioned Apr 23, recalled Jun 22, optioned Jul 2, recalled Jul 8, optioned Jul 20, recalled Aug 9 and optioned again Aug 11. Taken in only 4 of 674 drafts, he finished 1026th of 1472 in the TDK LABS 5x5 value rank and 513th of 575 relievers. His 5.88 ERA ran 1.61 above his 4.27 xERA over 123 BF. The TDK LABS card tracked a role that never settled: by late Jun it had him in bulk relief behind an opener, then recalled again with a muddled assignment days later, then back for a rotation chance that turned into another bulk outing, and by Aug it had him up only as emergency bullpen depth while the rotation worked through a string of early exits.
