Undrafted in NFBC drafts, he finished 403rd of 1472 in the TDK LABS 5x5 value rank, and 112th of 575 relievers at RP. His 1.91 ERA ran 1.17 below his 3.08 xERA over 132 BF. The TDK LABS card tracked him closely: by May 8 it had him optioned back after a brief debut once a roster spot opened, by Jun 7 it had him as left-handed bullpen depth filling a vacated spot, and by late Sep it had him as a low-leverage mop-up arm, the card noting his velocity and stuff but pointing to the narrow role as the limit on his innings.
