2026 review

Alek Thomas was a light-hitting outfielder whose year went missing in the batter's box, hitting .186/.227/.327 with a 22.5 K% and a 3.3 BB% over 120 PA across 35 games for ARI and LAD, with 10 2B, 2 HR and 4 SB mixed in. Arizona designated him for assignment May 8 and he moved to the Dodgers, who optioned him May 12, recalled him Aug 22, optioned him again Sep 1, then designated him for assignment Sep 5 before outrighting him Sep 7. Drafted at NFBC ADP rank 1068, he finished 1194th of 1472 in the TDK LABS 5x5 value rank, 126 spots below, and 50th of 70 center fielders. His .243 wOBA ran 39 points below his .282 xwOBA over 120 PA. The TDK LABS card tracked the fall and the landing spot: in mid May it had him as org filler heading to the Dodgers as a fourth outfielder with no path to everyday work, by late Aug it had him back as a reserve outfielder filling in for a teammate's long roster absence, and by Sep 7 it had him designated for assignment again to clear a roster spot.
