Alex HoppeSEA · BAL · RP
2026 review
Alex Hoppe worked low-leverage relief for SEA and BAL this year, striking out a decent chunk of hitters but also handing out free passes: he posted a 4.43 ERA and 1.43 WHIP in 42.2 IP, with a 24.5 K% and a 10.4 BB% over 192 BF across 42 games, all in relief, with 1 SV and 5 HLD. He shuttled with SEA, optioned Mar 25, recalled Apr 21, optioned again Jun 27 and recalled Jul 26, before moving from SEA to BAL, his last game for SEA Jul 30 and first for BAL Aug 5. Undrafted in NFBC drafts, he finished 852nd of 1472 in the TDK LABS 5x5 value rank, 543rd of 811 pitchers, and 415th of 575 relievers. His 4.43 ERA ran 0.40 above his 4.03 xERA over 192 BF. The TDK LABS card had nothing notable on him through early May, then by late Aug had him as organizational depth added in a trade, sitting in a fluid Baltimore pen with real availability risk; by the end of Aug it had him picking up an extra-inning save in that same committee but called any closer equity speculative, and by late Sep it described him as a low-leverage reliever whose results lagged the stuff.
