2026 review

Andrew McCutchen was a part-time bat for TEX who never got going. He signed a minor league contract on Mar 6, had his contract selected Mar 25, and across 37 games with 16 starts he hit .192/.277/.260 with a 26.5 K% and a 10.8 BB% over 83 PA, with 1 HR, 8 R and 5 RBI. The work tailed into a short run: 4 games and 11 PA in Mar, 17 games and 34 PA in Apr, 16 games and 38 PA in May, and his last game came May 25 before TEX designated him for assignment May 27 and released him May 28. He signed another minor league contract with ATL on Jul 2. Drafted at NFBC ADP rank 972, he finished 1314th of 1472 in the TDK LABS 5x5 value rank, 528th of 660 hitters and 38th of 46 designated hitters. The TDK LABS card tracked the shrinking job: in early May it had him as a structural DH fill-in against left-handed starters, by late May an aging bat squeezed into a strong-side platoon, and by mid Jun it had him back in a lineup with the DFA behind him.
