Bailey OberMIN · SP
2026 review
Bailey Ober had a rough year that came with lost velocity and lost time: he posted a 4.47 ERA and a 1.30 WHIP in 131.0 IP, with a 17.1 K% and a 6.6 BB% over 561 BF across 25 games and 24 GS for MIN. Right elbow inflammation sent him to the 15-day IL on May 31; he took rehab assignments Jun 28 and Jul 4 before he was activated Jul 9, missing 39 regular-season days in 1 stint. He carried a 4.59 ERA in 66.2 IP before that stint and a 4.34 ERA in 64.1 IP after he came back. Drafted at NFBC ADP rank 315, he finished 1000th of 1472 in the TDK LABS 5x5 value rank, 685 spots below, and 154th of 236 starting pitchers. His 4-seam fastball averaged 88.5 mph in Mar-Jun over 325 pitches and 87.6 mph in Jul-Sep over 335 pitches, a change of -0.9 mph. The TDK LABS card flagged the low fastball velocity as early as May, saying it would not last; once he went on the IL in early Jun it noted the soft velocity had been there before the shutdown; by late Sep it still had the strikeouts and the fastball speed both running near the bottom of the league.
