2026 review

Ben Brown turned in his best stretch after moving from the bullpen into the rotation: across 20 games for CHC he put up a 1.85 ERA and 0.94 WHIP in 68.0 IP, with a 24.5 K% and a 7.2 BB% over 265 BF, striking out 65 against 19 BB. He shifted into the rotation with his first appearance in the new role May 8, going from 0 GS in 12 games to 8 GS in 8 games, and the move sharpened him, a 1.70 ERA in 42.1 IP as a starter against a 2.10 ERA in 25.2 IP as a reliever. A neck strain then ended his season: he went on the 15-day IL Jun 24 retroactive to Jun 21, was transferred to the 60-day IL Aug 3, and never returned, missing 98 regular-season days with no activation on record through Sep 27. Taken at NFBC ADP rank 1002 in 403 of 674 drafts, he finished 185th of 1472 overall in the TDK LABS 5x5 value rank, 817 spots above his ADP rank, and 24th of 575 relievers. His 1.85 ERA ran 1.40 below his 3.25 xERA over 265 BF. Right-handed batters managed just .157/.197/.217 over 122 PA against him, while left-handed batters hit .213/.294/.276 over 143 PA. The TDK LABS card tracked the arc: by mid-Jul it described his pre-injury stuff as elite, and by late Sep it had him on the 60-day IL after a season-ending neck stress reaction.
