2026 review

Ben Malgeri was a corner outfielder for DET who made the most of limited playing time: in 60 games he hit .250/.350/.417 with 5 HR, 18 R and 20 RBI, adding a 25.7 K% and a 12.1 BB% over 140 PA. His contract was selected Jun 23, and his usage grew from 13 PA in Jun to 54 PA in Sep. Undrafted in NFBC drafts, he finished 984th of 1472 in the TDK LABS 5x5 value rank, and 39th of 79 right fielders. His .341 wOBA ran 24 points above his .317 xwOBA over 140 PA. The TDK LABS card followed the stretch run: by late Jun it had his role still uncertain, and by late Sep it had him working as a right-handed platoon option with back-to-back home runs behind the surge.
