2026 review

Ben Peoples was a depth arm who threw strikes better than the walk rate suggests, posting a 2.76 ERA and 1.35 WHIP in 16.1 IP over 16 games, with a 14.7 K% and an 11.8 BB% over 68 BF and 3 HR allowed. TEX acquired him via trade Jun 30, selected his contract Jul 2, then optioned and recalled him repeatedly through the summer, Aug 8, Aug 10, Aug 14, Aug 31 and Sep 7. Undrafted in NFBC drafts, he finished 629th of 1472 in the TDK LABS 5x5 value rank and 261st of 575 relievers. The TDK LABS card called him an unproven long reliever in early Jul, and by early Sep it still saw him as bullpen depth without a path to saves or holds, calling the stretch deep-league churn after just one appearance to that point.
