Ben Rice had one of the better bats in the league this year: 154 games, .264/.363/.534 over 667 PA, with 41 HR, 105 R and 97 RBI. He paired that with a 24.3 K% and a 12.7 BB% over 667 PA, and his contact carried real quality, his 14.3 Barrel% over 414 BBE the 17th highest of 267 hitters with 300+ PA. He hit right-handed pitching harder, .271/.382/.574 over 448 PA, than lefties, .246/.321/.452 over 221 PA, and his year had a dip built in, .333 over 81 AB in Sep against just .184 over 98 AB in Aug. The TDK LABS card followed him from a contusion-shortened stretch in early May, through a full-flight power run by mid Jul, to a breakout framing by late Sep, and closed the season calling his expected metrics aligned with his actual production. Drafted at NFBC ADP rank 55, he finished 14th of 1472 in the TDK LABS 5x5 value rank, 41 spots above, and 2nd of 46 designated hitters.
