2026 review
Braden Montgomery got the call to the majors and settled into an everyday role for a White Sox club that surprised, though his results trailed the quality of his contact all year. His contract was selected Jun 9, and he went 93 games with 87 starts, hitting .226/.312/.350, a 19.7 K% and 10.4 BB% over 365 PA, with 16 2B, 3 3B, 6 HR, 47 R and 38 RBI. Taken in 200 of 674 drafts at ADP rank 1188, he finished 602nd of 1472 overall in the TDK LABS 5x5 value rank and 267th of 660 hitters, 31st of 79 right fielders. His .298 wOBA ran 27 points below his .325 xwOBA over 365 PA. He hit right-handed pitching much better, .265/.355/.400 over 262 PA, against just .129/.204/.226 over 103 PA facing left-handers. The TDK LABS card traced the same arc: a loud, top-prospect debut in early Jun gave way by Jul to a cleanup role still unsettled, by late Aug to sporadic pop paired with a multi-hit stretch, and by Sep to a hitter heating up while still trailing his expected numbers.
