Brandyn García was a swing-and-miss reliever who barely got mentioned on draft day and turned into one of the better bullpen arms around: a 1.93 ERA and 0.74 WHIP in 51.1 IP over 57 games for ARI, with a 31.2 K% and a 5.7 BB% over 192 BF, 5 SV and 18 HLD. He was optioned Mar 25 and recalled May 1, then worked steadily from there, 11.0 IP in May, 7.1 in Jun, 11.2 in Jul, 10.0 in Aug and 11.1 in Sep. Undrafted almost everywhere, taken in just 4 of 674 drafts at ADP rank 683, he finished 202nd of 1472 in the TDK LABS 5x5 value rank and 28th of 575 relievers. His 31.9 CSW% over 706 pitches was the 24th highest of 517 pitchers with 100+ BF, his 31.2 K% over 192 BF was the 25th highest of that same pool, and his 26.3 Hard% over 114 BBE was the 34th lowest, contact he limited to go with the swings and misses. The TDK LABS card followed him from an unproven recall with no leverage in early May to, by early Sep, a name stuck in a crowded save committee where holds looked like the ceiling, before turning around by late Sep to flag the strikeout and control rates as elite.
