2026 review
Brendan Beck was an up-and-down starter who never found stable big-league work: he posted a 9.95 ERA and a 1.66 WHIP in 12.2 IP over 4 games, 2 of them starts, for NYY, with a 22.4 K% and a 13.8 BB% over 58 BF, allowing 14 ER and 6 HR. His contract was selected May 7 and he was optioned the next day, then he shuttled between the majors and the minors on Jul 4, Jul 5, Aug 23, Aug 24, Aug 29, Aug 30 and Sep 25. Undrafted in NFBC drafts, he finished 987th of 1472 in the TDK LABS 5x5 value rank, 643rd of 811 pitchers, and 149th of 236 starters. The TDK LABS card described him in mid May as long-relief depth with no leverage role after a brief activation, still in that same long-relief lane with no save path by late Aug, and by late Sep pointed to a poor big-league start that still left the callup window open.
