2026 review
Brennan Bernardino was a control reliever who barely walked anyone, his 5.6 BB% over 267 BF the 41st lowest of 517 pitchers with 100+ BF, but his results ran well ahead of what his underlying numbers supported. He worked 74 games with 2 GS for COL, throwing an 18.4 K% and a 5.6 BB% over 267 BF, a 2.81 ERA and 1.16 WHIP in 64.0 IP, and finished 4-3 with 2 SV, 14 HLD and 5 BS. Undrafted in NFBC drafts, he finished 328th of 1472 in the TDK LABS 5x5 value rank, 124th of 811 pitchers and 72nd of 575 relievers. His 2.81 ERA ran 0.92 below his 3.73 xERA over 267 BF. He posted a 0.00 ERA in 12.2 IP in Jul against a 6.94 ERA in 11.2 IP in May. By early Aug the TDK LABS card had him as a leverage piece with split consensus on his role, flagging his expected numbers as a reason for caution; by early Sep it had the skill metrics fading while his workload piled up; by late Sep it had him as a committee arm whose save path was capped after a blown save and heavy usage on consecutive days, still available but thinly so.
