2026 review

Brent Suter was a bulk middle reliever who moved around but kept throwing strikes: a 3.36 ERA and 1.22 WHIP in 91.0 IP across 54 games and 4 GS for LAA and ATL, with a 20.7 K% and a 6.6 BB% over 376 BF. He signed with LAA as a free agent Feb 6, then was traded from LAA to ATL Aug 3, with his last game for LAA on Aug 1 and his first for ATL on Aug 6. Undrafted in NFBC drafts, he finished 482nd of 1472 in the TDK LABS 5x5 value rank and 157th of 575 relief pitchers. His 3.36 ERA in 91.0 IP ran 0.59 below his 3.95 xERA over 377 BF, and his year swung hard by month, a 1.10 ERA in 16.1 IP in Aug against a 6.59 ERA in 13.2 IP in May. The TDK LABS card tracked a reliever without a fixed job: in early May he was caught in what it called a messy LAA bullpen committee rotating arms through tough spots, by mid Aug it had him newly in Atlanta working low-leverage innings without role clarity despite solid recent form, and by late Sep it still had him as a bulk arm in a straightforward pen, most recently opening a bullpen game with a limited workload.
