2026 review

Brett Callahan was a rookie outfielder whose debut power faded into a bench role: he hit .211/.287/.324 with a 33.8 K% and an 8.8 BB% over 80 PA for DET across 33 games and 20 starts, with 1 HR, 8 RBI and 1 SB. His contract was selected Aug 16, and he played 34 PA in Aug against 46 PA in Sep. Undrafted in NFBC drafts, he finished 1291st of 1472 in the TDK LABS 5x5 value rank and 71st of 93 left fielders. The TDK LABS card opened with him as a speculative depth call-up on Aug 17, turned excited over an early scorcher and his first career home run by Aug 20, then by Sep 20 had him as a platoon piece with shaky contact and eroding playing time, and by Sep 25 it had him down to a bench outfielder with thin opportunity.
