2026 review

Cal Raleigh was a patient catcher who also struck out at an extreme rate: he hit .182/.296/.368 with a 30.9 K% and a 13.6 BB% over 530 PA for SEA, adding 23 HR, 49 R and 69 RBI in 126 games. A right oblique strain sent him to the 10-day IL May 14, he took rehab assignments Jun 7 and Jun 9, and he was activated Jun 16 after missing 33 regular-season days. Drafted at NFBC ADP rank 18, he finished 321st of 1472 in the TDK LABS 5x5 value rank, 303 spots below, and 14th of 103 catchers. His 13.6 BB% and 30.9 K% over 530 PA were the 15th and 16th highest of 267 hitters with 300+ PA, and his 14.1 Barrel% over 291 BBE was the 20th highest of 267 hitters with 300+ PA. His .297 wOBA ran 15 points below his .312 xwOBA over 530 PA. He hit .161 over 161 AB before the IL stint and .193 over 290 AB after he came back. By late Jul the TDK LABS card had him in a prolonged slump, and by late Sep it still had his results trailing his expected numbers despite a late bounce.
