Caleb Durbin was a contact-first third baseman with little pop behind it: he hit .248/.332/.378 with a 13.5 K% and an 8.7 BB% over 586 PA for BOS, adding 13 HR and 20 SB across 153 games. His 24.9 HardHit% and his 2.7 Barrel% over 441 BBE were the 10th lowest and the 23rd lowest of 267 hitters with 300+ PA, but his 13.5 K% over 586 PA was the 25th lowest of that same group. Drafted at NFBC ADP rank 223, he finished 118th of 1472 in the TDK LABS 5x5 value rank, 105 spots above, and 14th of 67 third basemen. His .317 wOBA ran 26 points above his .291 xwOBA over 586 PA, and he hit .326 over 86 AB in Jun against .200 over 85 AB in Apr. The TDK LABS card described him in early May as a scrappy contact guy without a power profile, by early Aug had him outrunning his metrics with accumulated workload in a locked-in role, and by late Sep still had him as the everyday third baseman even while flagging his contact cooling off lately.
