2026 review

Carlos Carrasco was a journeyman reliever whose year was mostly transactions: he posted a 5.94 ERA and 1.44 WHIP in 16.2 IP for ATL, striking out a 9.6 K% against a 4.1 BB% over 73 BF across 8 games. He was selected, designated for assignment, outrighted and re-signed on a minor league deal in a repeating cycle from Apr 23 through Jul 9, shuttled between the majors and the minors on Apr 29, May 1, May 2, May 5, May 7, May 8, May 21, May 29, May 31, Jun 1, Jun 2, Jun 10, Jun 12, Jun 14, Jun 17, Jun 24, Jun 26, Jun 27, Jul 5, Jul 6, Jul 8 and Jul 9, before the run ended when he was outrighted again on Jul 8. Taken in just 1 of 674 drafts at ADP rank 482, he finished 873rd of 1472 in the TDK LABS 5x5 value rank, 561st of 811 pitchers and 430th of 575 relievers. The TDK LABS card tracked the churn as it happened: by early Jun it read his selections as long-relief bulk work with no leverage lane, and by Jul 9 it had his Atlanta tenure ending with another outright to the minors.
