2026 review
Carlos Narváez was a light-hitting catcher who still played close to every day: he hit .161/.241/.226 with a 31.6 K% and a 6.7 BB% over 285 PA across 95 games and 83 starts, adding 3 HR, 10 RBI and 19 BB against 90 SO for BOS and BAL. He moved from BOS to BAL, his last game for Boston Aug 2 and his first for Baltimore Aug 4, and finished the year as Baltimore's primary catcher. Drafted at NFBC ADP rank 281, he finished 1319th of 1472 in the TDK LABS 5x5 value rank, 1038 spots below, and 78th of 103 catchers. His .219 wOBA ran 41 points below his .260 xwOBA over 285 PA. The TDK LABS card opened in early May noting praise for his framing and a run of home runs, but by mid-Aug it had him cold at the plate right after the trade, batting ninth as Baltimore's primary catcher with a platoon partner's return looming.
