2026 review
Carlos Rodón was a dominant strikeout arm for NYY when healthy, but elbow trouble limited him to parts of the season. He posted a 2.67 ERA and 1.06 WHIP over 84.1 IP across 16 starts, with a 26.8 K% and an 11.2 BB% over 340 BF. A left elbow surgery recovery put him on the 15-day IL Mar 25 retroactive to Mar 22; after rehab assignments in Apr and early May he was activated May 10. Left elbow inflammation sent him back to the 15-day IL Jul 3 retroactive to Jun 30, and after rehab assignments in Aug he was activated Aug 18, with 95 regular-season days missed across the 2 stints. Drafted at NFBC ADP rank 202, he finished 199th of 1472 in the TDK LABS 5x5 value rank, 3 spots above his ADP rank, and 26th of 236 starting pitchers. His ERA ran 1.22 below his 3.89 xERA over 340 BF. Before the Jun 30 elbow stint he carried a 3.30 ERA in 46.1 IP; after his Aug 18 activation it dropped to 1.89 ERA in 38.0 IP. By mid Aug the TDK LABS card had him back on the 15-day IL undergoing rehabilitation, and by late Sep it was calling him an elite arm working with a limited late-season workload.
