2026 review

Chad Patrick was a workhorse bullpen arm who got results his stuff did not fully back up: a 3.40 ERA and 1.24 WHIP in 106.0 IP across 57 games, with a 21.1 K% and a 10.7 BB% over 441 BF, 9 W, 6 SV and 11 HLD. He worked every month from Mar through Sep, with usage ranging from 23.2 IP in Apr down to 9.2 IP in Sep. Drafted at NFBC ADP rank 323, he finished 287th of 1472 in the TDK LABS 5x5 value rank, 36 spots above, and 56th of 575 relief pitchers. His ERA ran 0.90 below his 4.30 xERA over 442 BF, and he handled right-handed batters better, holding them to .185/.290/.272 over 226 PA against .254/.335/.460 over 217 PA for lefties. His 4-seam fastball ticked up from 95.0 mph Mar-Jun to 96.4 mph Jul-Sep. His best month was Aug at a 2.25 ERA in 16.0 IP against a 6.20 ERA in 20.1 IP in Jun. The TDK LABS card tracked him as a volatile but useful arm all year: in early May it flagged his command as a cap on his ceiling even in a win, by late Jun it had him as a long man with no setup path, by Jul it placed him as a middle reliever, and by late Sep it still read his results as ahead of his underlying stuff with the role staying middle relief and no save lane.
