Chadwick TrompATL · BAL · C

2026 review

Chadwick Tromp bounced around as a backup catcher and never got the bat going, hitting .163/.160/.184 with a 25.5 K% and a 0.0 BB% over 51 PA across 21 games and 13 starts, with 8 H and 4 RBI in 49 AB. He had his contract selected by ATL on May 19, was designated for assignment Jun 4 and outrighted Jun 6, then signed a minor league contract with BAL on Jun 10 before his contract was selected there Jun 22; he was designated for assignment again Jul 3, outrighted Jul 8, selected again Jul 20, designated for assignment a third time Jul 31, elected free agency Aug 4 and signed a minor league contract with LAD on Aug 13. Undrafted in NFBC drafts, he finished 1408th of 1472 in the TDK LABS 5x5 value rank and 94th of 103 catchers. The TDK LABS card followed the churn: in late May it had him splitting catching work in Atlanta behind bats still working their way onto the roster, by late Jun it had him up on an emergency basis with minimal playing time, by late Jul it had him filling in as a starter behind the plate, and by early Aug it noted he had been designated for assignment as the club cleared roster space.
