Chase ShugartPHI · RP

2026 review

Chase Shugart worked almost entirely out of the bullpen for Philadelphia, posting a 4.02 ERA and 1.17 WHIP in 53.2 IP across 46 games, with a 26.5 K% and a 9.0 BB% over 223 BF, 2 W, 1 L and 2 BS. He was designated for assignment by PIT on Jan 8, then shuttled between the majors and the minors for PHI on Mar 22, Apr 14, Jun 30, Jul 9, Aug 9 and Aug 10. Undrafted in NFBC drafts, he finished 521st of 1472 in the TDK LABS 5x5 value rank, 263rd of 811 pitchers, and 184th of 575 relievers. By late Aug the TDK LABS card had him back in Philadelphia as a long-relief arm buried in the bullpen depth chart; by mid-Sep it had him moved into a middle-relief role, and by late Sep it was describing him as a reliever with good raw stuff whose recent innings had been clean, even if his overall ratios kept his ceiling limited.
