2026 review
Christian Encarnacion-Strand was a power-first third baseman who got a fresh look in Baltimore: after Cincinnati optioned him Mar 9 and designated him for assignment Apr 8, he was traded to BAL on Apr 13 and immediately optioned again before a Jul 16 recall. Once up, he hit .277/.325/.513 over 213 PA in 58 games with 49 starts, going 54-for-195 with 13 2B and 11 HR. He struck out at a 25.8 K% and walked at a 5.2 BB% over 213 PA, driving in 39 RBI along the way. Drafted at NFBC ADP rank 1230, he finished 493rd of 1472 overall in the TDK LABS 5x5 value rank and 29th of 67 third basemen. His .358 wOBA ran 26 points above his .332 xwOBA over 213 PA. The TDK LABS card opened with early struggles right after the Jul callup, then by late Aug had him with expanding playing time, and by mid Sep had him as a regular corner infield bat putting together a strong recent stretch while hitting in line with his expected baseline; by late Sep it had him surging in power output with strong recent contact metrics.
