2026 review

Cody Laweryson pitched in short bursts out of the bullpen for MIN, posting a 4.86 ERA and 1.38 WHIP in 16.2 IP across 15 games, with a 23.1 K% and a 10.3 BB% over 78 BF, 1 W, 1 SV and 2 HLD. He was designated for assignment and released by LAA in early Feb, signed a minor league deal with MIN, and had his contract selected Mar 25 before a right forearm strain sent him to the 15-day IL on Apr 11, retroactive to Apr 9; he took a rehab assignment and was activated May 29 after missing 50 regular-season days. After that he was optioned Jun 23, recalled Jun 29, optioned again Jul 6, then designated for assignment Aug 1 and released Aug 4, signing another minor league deal Aug 7. Undrafted in NFBC drafts, he finished 647th of 1472 in the TDK LABS 5x5 value rank, 371st of 811 pitchers, and 275th of 575 relievers. The TDK LABS card followed him from a forearm rehab assignment in mid May into a string of 7-day IL stints with an undisclosed injury by early Sep.
