2026 review
Cole Ragans missed bats, but he could not find the plate, and then his season stopped in May. He made 8 starts for KCR with a 4.84 ERA and 1.42 WHIP in 35.1 IP, going 1-4 with 45 SO, 23 BB and 10 HR allowed, and his 29.8 K% and 15.2 BB% over 151 BF landed at both ends of the same group of 517 pitchers with 100+ BF, the 47th highest strikeout rate and the 15th highest walk rate. His workload never built, 4.0 IP in Mar, 23.0 IP in Apr, then 8.1 IP across 2 games in May before KCR placed him on the 15-day IL on May 8 with a left elbow impingement, retroactive to May 7. He took a rehab assignment on May 23, but he missed 143 regular-season days with no activation on record through Sep 27. Drafted at NFBC ADP rank 51, he finished 831st of 1472 in the TDK LABS 5x5 value rank, 780 spots below, 525th of 811 pitchers and 126th of 236 starting pitchers. By late Jun the TDK LABS card had him shelved on the 60-day IL with the elbow, and through the end of Jul it still had him there, out of the picture entirely.
