2026 review
Cole Sulser pitched for the TBR bullpen through 2 back-related injured-list stints that cost him 55 regular-season days, posting a 4.31 ERA and 1.24 WHIP in 56.1 IP over 51 games (2 GS), a 23.7 K% and a 7.2 BB% over 236 BF, with 1 W, 3 SV and 12 HLD. He was placed on the 15-day IL May 18 retroactive to May 15 with a low back strain and activated May 30, then placed on the 15-day IL Jul 29 retroactive to Jul 26 with lower back spasms, took a rehab assignment Aug 19, and was activated Sep 4. Undrafted in NFBC drafts, he finished 701st of 1472 in the TDK LABS 5x5 value rank, 417th of 811 pitchers, and 314th of 575 relief pitchers. His 41.1 Hard% over 163 BBE was the 23rd highest of 517 pitchers with 100+ BF, yet he ran a 4.86 ERA in 46.1 IP before his longest IL stint and a 1.80 ERA in 10.0 IP after he came back Sep 4 — also his best month, against a 7.30 ERA in 12.1 IP in Jun as his worst. By early May the TDK LABS card had him picking up his first save in a scoreless ninth inning, and by early Sep it had him back in a middle-relief role after the layoff.
