2026 review

Cooper Criswell worked as a swingman reliever for SEA all year, one who leaned on limiting damage more than missing bats: over 37 games he posted a 3.32 ERA and 1.40 WHIP in 40.2 IP, with an 18.0 K% and a 9.3 BB% over 172 BF, striking out 31 against 16 BB with 1 SV, 3 HLD and 1 BS. He opened the year traded from NYM to SEA on Jan 23 after being designated for assignment by NYM on Jan 21, then a right shoulder strain put him on the 15-day IL Jun 9, transferred to the 60-day IL Jul 3; he took a rehab assignment Aug 22 and was activated Aug 31, missing 83 regular-season days in that stint. Taken in just 12 of 674 drafts at ADP rank 793, he finished 515th of 1472 overall in the TDK LABS 5x5 value rank and 181st of 575 relievers. His ERA ran 0.49 below his 3.81 xERA over 172 BF, and he was sharper after the layoff than before it, a 2.70 ERA in 10.0 IP after activation against a 3.52 ERA in 30.2 IP before the stint. By mid-Sep the TDK LABS card described him as a long man still working back from injury, unremarkable on the skill numbers and without a clear path to saves or holds in a straightforward bullpen mix.
