Cooper Pratt spent the summer as Milwaukee's shortstop, hitting .281 with a .350 OBP and a .368 SLG in 228 AB over 266 PA, and adding 19 SB against 3 CS. He posted an 18.0 K% and a 9.8 BB% over 266 PA. His contract was selected and he was optioned both on Apr 3, then he was recalled Jun 16 and played out the year in Milwaukee; a right hamstring strain put him on the 10-day IL on Aug 9, and after a rehab assignment he was activated Aug 19, missing 10 regular-season days. Taken in just 20 of 674 drafts at NFBC ADP rank 825, he finished 343rd of 1472 in the TDK LABS 5x5 value rank, 209th of 660 hitters, and 27th of 61 shortstops. By mid-Jun the TDK LABS card had him arriving to take over the shortstop job in Milwaukee, by early Jul it had him stuck in a cold stretch even with his speed and the quality of his contact working in his favor, still viewed as more prospect than finished product, and by late Sep it had him fighting illness after a good week, framing him as a speed piece whose value rides on how much he plays.
