2026 review
Dalton Rushing was a power-over-contact catcher whose year kept getting cut short by his elbow: he hit .246/.328/.460 with a 29.2 K% and a 9.1 BB% over 253 PA for LAD across 80 games and 59 starts, with 12 HR among his 55 H. Right elbow inflammation put him on the 10-day IL Aug 3, and after he was activated Sep 1 a fresh bout of right elbow discomfort sent him back down Sep 5 before he was activated again Sep 25, 49 regular-season days missed across the 2 stints. Drafted at NFBC ADP rank 444, he finished 491st of 1472 in the TDK LABS 5x5 value rank, 47 spots below, and 21st of 103 catchers. His usage told the same story, a real workload from Apr through Jul (50, 46, 77, and 67 PA in those months) that collapsed to 3 PA in Aug and 8 PA over Sep. The TDK LABS card tracked the swing in his role: by early May it had him elevated into a leadoff DH spot on manager confidence, by late Jun it had another injury opening up starts for him, and by early Sep, after the elbow recovery, it had him back only as a capped left-handed bench bat, still framing him that way when he was activated again on Sep 27.
