Danny CoulombeBOS · RP

2026 review

Danny Coulombe was a lefty bullpen piece who missed the strike zone as often as he found outs: a 4.50 ERA and 1.50 WHIP in 22.0 IP over 29 games, with a 10.4 K% and a 15.6 BB% over 96 BF, plus 7 HLD against 1 BS. He signed with BOS on Mar 13, went to the 15-day IL on May 4 (retroactive to May 2) with cervical spasms, took rehab assignments on May 15 and May 19, and was activated May 24 after missing 22 regular-season days; BOS designated him for assignment Jul 12 and released him Jul 18. The TDK LABS card tracked the swing: in early May it noted the IL move and a replacement taking his active spot, by early Jul it had him back as a lefty leverage piece with a vague timeline and pending free agency, days later it described him as a lefty handled for high-leverage holds, and by Jul 12 it flagged the release following a recent outing. Taken in just 1 of 674 drafts at ADP rank 513, a rare pick rather than a regular draftee, he finished 872nd of 1472 in the TDK LABS 5x5 value rank, 560th of 811 pitchers, and 429th of 575 relievers.
