2026 review
Danny Jansen was a light-hitting catcher who missed a long stretch of the year, hitting .203/.296/.381 with a 24.2 K% and a 7.9 BB% over 227 PA and 8 HR across 67 games and 60 starts for TEX. A right forearm strain put him on the 10-day IL Jun 6 retroactive to Jun 3, then he was transferred to the 60-day IL Jul 29, took a rehab assignment Aug 11 and was activated Aug 18, missing 76 regular-season days. Drafted at NFBC ADP rank 441, he finished 1045th of 1472 in the TDK LABS 5x5 value rank, 604 spots below, and 356th of 660 hitters and 42nd of 103 catchers. His .300 wOBA ran 33 points above his .267 xwOBA over 227 PA. He hit .171 over 123 AB before the IL stint and .257 over 74 AB after he came back. The TDK LABS card read his early May playing time as normal catcher rotation, had him on the IL with a forearm strain by early Jul, noted him activated after an extensive absence by late Aug, and by late Sep was describing the catcher's recent cold stretch as running ahead of what the underlying contact numbers pointed toward.
