Danny Young spent most of the year rehabbing: a left elbow reconstruction put him on the 15-day IL on Mar 25, transferred him to the 60-day IL on Apr 11, and cost him 100 regular-season days before rehab assignments in Jun led to his activation on Jul 3. Back with ATL he ran an 8.03 ERA and a 2.27 WHIP in 12.1 IP across 16 games, with a 23.1 K% and a 20.0 BB% over 65 BF, picking up 4 HLD and 1 L, before he was designated for assignment on Aug 16 and outrighted on Aug 23. Undrafted in NFBC drafts, he finished 1019th of 1472 in the TDK LABS 5x5 value rank and 507th of 575 relievers. Once he came back, the TDK LABS card noted the strong numbers he had put up on his way back from the elbow surgery, and by mid Aug it had him as a lefty working the middle innings of a pen without a clear path to saves or holds.
