2026 review

Dansby Swanson was a shortstop who kept his power and speed but lost the bat-to-ball, hitting .213/.297/.397 with a 23.7 K% and 10.5 BB% over 486 PA for CHC, with 19 HR and 17 SB. A left oblique strain put him on the 10-day IL Aug 17, and he was activated Sep 18 after missing 32 regular-season days. Drafted at NFBC ADP rank 138, he finished 123rd of 1472 in the TDK LABS 5x5 value rank, 15 spots above, and 12th of 61 shortstops. His best month was Jul at .250 over 84 AB against .151 over 93 AB in May. The TDK LABS card followed the oblique closely: in mid-May it noted a glute cramp that cost him time, and by late Sep, freshly activated, it described him on a gradual ramp-up back to full strength, still working into form with spot starts in a utility-like role.
