2026 review
Daulton Varsho was a light-hitting center fielder whose wrist wouldn't cooperate: he hit .221/.281/.355 with a 20.3 K% and a 7.4 BB% over 526 PA across 140 games, adding 23 2B, 12 HR and 12 SB for TOR and HOU. Left wrist inflammation put him on the 10-day IL on Jun 12 (retroactive to Jun 10), he was activated Jun 20, and he went back on the 10-day IL Sep 24 (retroactive to Sep 23), missing 14 regular-season days across the stints; he also moved from TOR to HOU, last appearing for Toronto Aug 2 and debuting for Houston Aug 3. Drafted at NFBC ADP rank 194, he finished 358th of 1472 in the TDK LABS 5x5 value rank, 164 spots below, and 25th of 70 center fielders. May was his best month at .283 in 106 AB, while Aug, right after the trade, was his worst at .172 in 99 AB. The TDK LABS card had tracked a playing-time boost in early May before he ever left Toronto, called his Houston debut a step into a superior lineup in early Aug, and by mid-Aug noted the bat had not warmed up in the new lineup; by late Sep it had him on the IL with wrist inflammation.
