Drafted at NFBC ADP rank 330, he finished 121st of 1472 in the TDK LABS 5x5 value rank, 209 spots above, and 7th of 46 DH. His playing time grew as the year went on, from 13 PA in Mar up to 114 PA in Aug, and his best month was Jun at .314 over 70 AB against .232 over 82 AB in Jul. The TDK LABS card tracked that rise in trust: in early May it called him a platoon piece with context-dependent value, by Jul 10 it had him affirmed as a full-time DH on legitimized power production, and by Sep 27 it had him closing his first full season on a hot stretch of consistent power and contact.
