Dustin Harris bounced around before he found a home: across stops with CHW, HOU and SDP he hit .293 with a .353 OBP and a .383 SLG in 133 AB, adding 10 SB, a 13.2 K% and a 7.2 BB% over 152 PA. His contract was selected by CHW on Apr 7, he was designated for assignment there Apr 15, claimed off waivers by HOU Apr 18, designated for assignment again May 5, outrighted May 8, signed by CHW May 12, then signed minor league deals with SDP on Jul 8 and Aug 7 before SDP selected his contract Aug 24. Undrafted in NFBC drafts, he finished 846th of 1472 in the TDK LABS 5x5 value rank, 308th of 660 hitters, and 40th of 93 left fielders. His .326 wOBA ran 12 points above his .314 xwOBA over 152 PA. The TDK LABS card tracked the shift: in early May it had him getting steady playing time for HOU while several regulars were out, by early Sep it had him as a platoon piece just settling into everyday reps against right-handers after a late-August callup, and by late Sep it had him established as San Diego's leadoff man with consistent contact and strong on-base ability.
