Edwin DíazLAD · RP

2026 review

Edwin Díaz pitched in just 21 games for LAD this year, missing most of the season to injury: an 8.68 ERA and 1.98 WHIP in 18.2 IP, with a 29.2 K% and 11.5 BB% over 96 BF, 28 SO, 7 SV and 4 BS. Right elbow loose bodies put him on the 15-day IL Apr 20, and the stint was transferred to the 60-day IL on May 10; after rehab outings on Jul 11, Jul 14, Jul 17 and Jul 22 he was activated Jul 29. Neck inflammation put him back on the 15-day IL Aug 18, and after a Sep 6 rehab assignment he returned Sep 18, missing 131 regular-season days in 2 stints. Drafted at NFBC ADP rank 29, he finished 923rd of 1472 overall in the TDK LABS 5x5 value rank, 894 spots below, and 461st of 575 relief pitchers. The TDK LABS card had him roughly 2 months out after the elbow procedure back in early May; by mid-Sep it described him struggling in rehab outings on the neck injury with his return date tied to readiness; and by late Sep, after his latest activation, it had him back as a top-leverage arm in a preferred-share pen off a recent dominant outing.
