2026 review

Eli Morgan was a fringe reliever for KCR who couldn't hold a big-league job, posting a 5.12 ERA and 1.71 WHIP in 19.1 IP over 16 games with a 17.6 K% and a 9.9 BB% over 91 BF, allowing 5 HR against 16 SO. He signed a minor league contract with KCR on Jan 30, had his contract selected Mar 25, and was optioned and recalled repeatedly from Mar 25 through Jul 24, shuttling between the majors and the minors, before he was designated for assignment Aug 13, outrighted Aug 16, and signed a minor league contract with NYY on Aug 21. Undrafted in NFBC drafts, he finished 911th of 1472 in the TDK LABS 5x5 value rank, 585th of 811 pitchers, and 451st of 575 relief pitchers. The TDK LABS card tracked a fringe arm cycling in and out: up for a third stint as depth for a thinning rotation by May 19, optioned again in early Jun as the latest down-cycle in a shuttle stint, and outrighted off the roster by mid-Aug.
