2026 review

Eric Wagaman was a fringe corner bat who bounced through the MIN and NYM shuttle without ever getting settled: he hit .191/.269/.319 with a 23.1 K% and a 7.7 BB% over 52 PA in 26 games for NYM, with 2 HR and 5 RBI. MIN optioned him Mar 23 and designated him for assignment Apr 23; NYM claimed him off waivers the same week and then shuttled him between the majors and the minors on Apr 27, Apr 30, May 1, May 3, May 10, May 26, Jul 20, Jul 25, Aug 8, Aug 19 and Aug 29, designating him for assignment and outrighting him along the way before his contract was selected May 26. Drafted at NFBC ADP rank 1252, he finished 1302nd of 1472 in the TDK LABS 5x5 value rank, 518th of 660 hitters, and 48th of 65 first basemen. The TDK LABS card had him as a hot bat up from the minors in late May, cooled its read to a deep bench option by mid Jun, and by Jun 23 had him back in a fill-in role only.
