2026 review

Ethan Roberts was a limited reliever whose year was mostly missed time: over 23 games he posted a 4.21 ERA and 1.40 WHIP in 25.2 IP, with a 15.5 K% and a 12.7 BB% over 110 BF. His 15.5 K% over 110 BF was the 42nd lowest of 517 pitchers with 100+ BF. He shuttled between the majors and the minors early on, then a right middle finger laceration put him on the 15-day IL Apr 13, a stint that ran to May 8, and a right forearm inflammation sent him back down Jun 29, a stint with no activation on record through Sep 27; between the stints he missed 115 regular-season days. Undrafted in NFBC drafts, he finished 817th of 1472 in the TDK LABS 5x5 value rank, 392nd of 575 relievers. His 4.21 ERA ran 0.84 below his 5.05 xERA over 110 BF. The TDK LABS card tracked the absence: by early May it had him still working through a rehab pipeline with the bullpen short-handed, and by late Jun it had him as a middle reliever without a save path before he went back on the IL with the forearm issue.
