Eugenio Suárez hit for real power but struck out at an extreme rate: .212/.307/.433 in 434 AB across 125 games for CIN, adding 26 HR, 50 R and 74 RBI, and a 33.9 K% and a 10.4 BB% over 498 PA, with that strikeout rate the 4th highest of 267 hitters with 300+ PA. He signed as a free agent Feb 3, then went on the 10-day IL Apr 25 retroactive to Apr 23 for a mild left oblique strain, took a rehab assignment May 20 and was activated May 22, missing 29 regular-season days in that stint. His average dipped some after, .231 over 91 AB before the IL stint and .207 over 343 AB after he came back. Drafted at NFBC ADP rank 103, he finished 215th of 1472 in the TDK LABS 5x5 value rank, 112 spots below, and 13th of 46 designated hitters. His .324 wOBA ran 21 points above his .303 xwOBA over 498 PA. The TDK LABS card went quiet on his return timeline once his IL window passed eligibility in early May, then by early Sep it was tracking a personal absence for citizenship followed by one of his better months with the power carrying, before circling back by late Sep to a cold stretch sitting beneath his season-long power output.
