2026 review
Fernando Cruz missed a lot of bats but walked plenty of hitters too: he ran a 3.13 ERA and 1.34 WHIP in 54.2 IP over 61 games, with a 28.6 K% and a 13.7 BB% over 234 BF, going 4-6 with 2 SV, 19 HLD and 6 BS. Right elbow discomfort put him on the 15-day IL on Aug 26, and he was transferred to the 60-day IL on Sep 25 with no activation on record, missing 32 regular-season days. Drafted at NFBC ADP rank 1305, he finished 405th of 1472 overall in the TDK LABS 5x5 value rank and 113th of 575 relief pitchers. His 32.8 CSW% and 16.3 SwStr% over 946 pitches were the 8th highest and 13th highest of 517 pitchers with 100+ BF, and his 26.3 Hard% over 133 BBE was the 34th lowest of 517 pitchers with 100+ BF. The TDK LABS card had him pitching well enough by early May to be next in line when the closer needed a breather, then flagged inconsistency across back-to-back outings by late Jul. By late Aug the card had him on the injured list with the right elbow issue, and by late Sep it had him still on the 60-day IL with that same elbow injury.
