His 4.03 ERA ran 0.35 below his 4.38 xERA over 758 BF, and the month-to-month swing was steep, a 1.93 ERA in 23.1 IP in Sep against a 7.13 ERA in 17.2 IP in Jul. The TDK LABS card tracked that swing: early in May it had him as a difference-making arm off a 21-whiff start, by early Aug it described his innings total as outpacing a middling ERA, and by late Sep it still had him penciled in as a steady mid-rotation arm.
