2026 review
Freddy Fermín scuffled at the plate for SDP this year, hitting .203 and an SLG of .315 in 232 AB, with an OBP of .274, a 21.1 K% and a 7.9 BB% over 265 PA, with 4 HR, 24 RBI and 22 R across 96 games. A concussion put him on the 7-day IL Jun 14; he returned Jun 23. A head contusion sent him back to the 10-day IL Jul 3, and after a rehab assignment he returned Jul 17, missing 23 regular-season days across the 2 stints. Drafted at NFBC ADP rank 388, he finished 1128th of 1472 in the TDK LABS 5x5 value rank, 740 spots below his ADP rank, 398th of 660 hitters and 49th of 103 catchers. He hit .152 over 138 AB before the stint that began Jul 3 and .277 over 94 AB after he came back. By early May the TDK LABS card had him losing starts after a cold stretch to a hot alternate; by late August it read a near-even timeshare with weak contact, and days later noted more playing time as primary catcher despite a cold barrel rate and a climb up the order; by late September it had him back as a backup with sporadic time and little power.
