2026 review
Gabe Speier held down a lefty relief role for SEA, posting a 2.93 ERA and 1.09 WHIP in 46.0 IP across 54 games, with a 23.7 K% and a 7.9 BB% over 190 BF, 1 save and 21 holds. A left shoulder inflammation sent him to the 15-day IL on May 4, retroactive to May 3, and after rehab assignments he was activated May 26, missing 23 regular-season days in that stint. Drafted at NFBC ADP rank 1261, he finished 370th of 1472 in the TDK LABS 5x5 value rank, 148th of 811 pitchers, and 90th of 575 relief pitchers. His ERA held nearly identical on either side of the injury, 2.92 in 12.1 IP before it and 2.94 in 33.2 IP after. His 2.93 ERA ran 0.77 below his 3.70 xERA over 190 BF. The TDK LABS card had him shelved with no return clarity in early May, then by late Aug it described a shrinking workload after back discomfort with his role fading; by mid-Sep it was flagging underlying concerns even as the holds continued, and by late Sep it noted a blown save alongside dwindling availability.
