2026 review

Garrett Stubbs was a reserve catcher who barely got on base and rarely did anything once there, hitting .153/.215/.153 with a 23.1 K% and a 4.6 BB% over 65 PA for PHI across 35 games, with 0 HR and 3 RBI. He was designated for assignment Mar 25, outrighted Mar 28, had his contract selected Apr 22, then went on the 10-day IL Jul 21 (retroactive to Jul 18) for left wrist inflammation and was activated Jul 28 after 10 regular-season days missed. Undrafted in NFBC drafts, he finished 1342nd of 1472 in the TDK LABS 5x5 value rank, and 80th of 103 catchers. The TDK LABS card described him in Jun as a reserve catcher with sparse at-bats whose plate discipline was elevated even as power stayed elusive, and by late Sep it still had him as a backup catcher on a cold recent stretch.
